Go-To Recipes

I’ve shared a few of the foods that I make here and there, over on my Instagram stories and have gotten a lot of questions about them! Also, I’m not sure about you, but I always have a hard time re-finding my favorite recipes when I try to make them again! So, I thought I would throw this list together, to create a go-to place for what I find and like! I’ll add to it as I go, so be sure to check back!

I will say, right now, my husband and I try to stick to a ketogenic diet, so I’ll often use and share recipes that follow those guidelines. I’ll try to note which recipes are keto vs. not keto, but if you’re wanting to use a keto recipe and not following a keto diet, you can often make substitutions to make it more suitable for your lifestyle!

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me! I’d love to hear from you! Happy cooking!

BULK MEAL PREP

Before I had Maddie, and each year, before I go back to school, I like to do one huge meal prep. This helps me to stay a little less frantic, when it comes to back-to-school chaos, and it helped me survive the beginning stages of motherhood a little more easily!

When I had Maddie, I used Diary of a Fit Mommy’s Freezer Meal List. I even made a few substitutions to make it just a little bit healthier (subbed whole wheat, brown rice, etc. in some areas, I believe)! We really enjoyed the meals, and they were easy to shop for, prep, and store.

Recently, I used the Keto Freezer Meal Prep list from The Freezer Family to prep a huge amount of freezer meals for back-to-school. What I LOVE about this resource is that it has a breakdown of all of the different ingredients and what recipe each is used for, easy prep (only one recipe called for any cooking during prep) with easy instructions, and a full list of suggested sides for each meal! You do have to submit your email to receive the resource, but it’s free and totally worth it!

GO-TO MEALS

Kielbasa with Cabbage is one of our FAVORITES–even our two-year-old asks for “Key-basaaaa, pease!” This is keto-friendly, but it’s not actually keto-based itself, so feel free to try it, without modifications! I normally use broth, instead of water and garlic. I also add a lot more, to make it soupier.

Buffalo Chicken Meatballs are some of my hubby’s favorites! This recipe isn’t keto, but you can make it so by subbing the Panko for almond flour!

Fathead Dough–don’t get me started on how yummy this is! We’re able to have pizza again, y’all!! I use the almond flour version of this recipe! It’s super easy to make, and you can make and freeze ahead of time!

Keto Meatloaf–another one that my hubby loves! This was super easy to make! I honestly forgot the bacon, but it still turned out so yummy! I’ll be making it again!

BAKING

Almond Buns from Caveman Keto–I’ve used these to make bagels and waffles with bacon in them! Both have turned out so yummy!

Did you know you can have donuts on keto?! I made the donuts by doubling the recipe, then covered half with a lemon glaze and half with a chocolate glaze–highly recommend, y’all!!

Skinny Blueberry Donuts aren’t keto, but according to my mom, they’re SO good! We topped them with lemon glaze!
